(1)Kashmir erupted in protest on Wednesday after a youth was killed in
army firing in frontier district of
Bandipora. Locals accused army of killing Hilal Ahmad Dar in cold
blood while army claimed he was killled
in an "encounter'. while the police believe it to be a case of
mistaken identity, the army said the youth
was killed in an enounter in a forest. "we had laid an ambush after
inputs about presence of militants.
the army retaliated after being fired upon, resulting in a brieft
encounter. In the morning, we recovered
the body and an AK 47 rifle," said srinagar based army spokesman j S

(2)Oxford school, which has allegedly been segregating and humiliating
children from weaker sections admitted
under the Right to Education Act, faced massive protests on Thursday.
The school is part of the KUSMA, which
is against the RTE act. In the morning, slogal shouting parents of
children targeted, stormed into the

(3)After the police declared former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda
absconding, a team of Delhi Police reached Sirsa
 around 11.40 pm on Wednesday night. they performed a thorough search
of Kanda's MDLR office, and International
  school, of which Geetika Sharma was a trustee. The Delhi Police
team, however, refused to comment or any
  question asked by media persons. In the morning, Kanda supporters
staged a protest in the main market and tried
 to close down shops. Local shopkeepers, however, resisted and kept
their establishmentss open throughout the day.

  Rajya Sabha members almost came to blows when the bill to amend the
constitution for providing quota to SCs/STs in
  promotions was introduced in the House. Avtar singh Karimpuri of the
BSP allegedly grabbed the collar of Samajwadi
  Party's Naresh Agarwal and they ended up pusing each other, reviving
memory of unruly behaviour in Parliament every
  time the women's quota bill was introduced. In the morning, chaos
prevailed as SP MPs, who opposed tabling of the bill
  moved close to the deputy chairperson's chair and tried to snatch a
copy of the bill from MoS for personnel V Narayanasamy.
 The BJP MPs too, were busy shouting slogans against Coalgate. Soon
after, the House was adjourned.

(5)Delhi Metro has drawn flack for allegedly extracting groundwater,
without any permission, and even using it for cleaning the
  roads around the construction site near Mandi House. Experts
suggests that recycled water should be used. Lot of earth is dug out
 for the construction of another underground station. It is
transported to different locations in trucks at night." Water drawn
from the
  bore well dug up at the construction site is used to clean tyres of
the outgoing trucks" jitendar tyagi,DMRC's director said.
  In the morning, water from same source is used fro cleaning the
roads around the construction site and the area around the Mandi House
