franchises are closely and constantly scrutinised.
Otherwise, it may be too late to salvage the
situation.(source-Hindustan Times Monday May 21, 2012)
(2)While surveying over 3000 family-run business across India, whose
annual revenues varied from 50crore to 300 crore,
the study found that family firms are opening up to external
sources of funding and throwing themselves up to financial
scrutiny." Many families have begun to take help of professional
wealth managers," said Ramachandran. "Otherwise,
the traditional business family's intent to keep financial matters
behind the closed doors was a hindrance to growth
of family business," he added. (source-Hindustan Times Monday June 28, 2012)
(3)There are many ambitious regional players who would see the issue
of presidentship from a totally different angle.
Like the Congress had done in the past, they too may look for
presidential candidate who would give them an opportunity
to be sworn in to the office of the prime minister after the next
parliamentary polls. There is a lot at stake and the
UPA leadership cannot afford to play its cards wrongly if it is to
increase its longevity. Otherwise, the consequences
might be too severe to bear.(source-Hindustan Times Tuesday May 22, 2012)
(4)The party's all-India general secretary and the state secretary
continuing to insist that the CPI (M)is not involved in the
murder is seen as a cruel joke by the public. It is obvious hat the
party leadership has lost touch with the grassroots
and is living in a self-woven cocoon. Otherwise, how can one explain
the fact that more than half the leaders suffendered at different
courts only when the party directed them to do so?(source-Hindustan

(5)Interestingly, one model figures that the Indian squad is on pace
for five gold medals. If they are handing out golds
for best tantrum by a tennis duo, or worst officials to sportspersons
ratio, that could make some sense. Otherwise, that makes
the entire process just about as credible as the American gun
lobby in the aftermath of of that dark night in Aurora, Colorado.

a video installation that included references to the 2002 Gujrat
riots. Earlier, the exhibition had to remove artwork with
negative references to the Indian milirary and New Delhi's role in the

(7)There was an ample does of reflected glory and revenge by proxy in
the way we celebrated the under-19 cricket World Cup triumph
in Australia. Our seniors, as they polished off New Zealand in
Hydrabad in the first Test, followed the action on television as
junior skipper Unmukt Chand emulated his senior Delhi teammate Virat
Kohli by hitting a match-winning century in the final in
Townsville. In cricket, it is the right age to demonstrate that one
had the potential to go on adn succeed at the international level.
After all, many players in the squad already played first-class
cricket, for their respective Ranji Trophy teams. But many talented
juniors have also lost their way or found the going tough at the
senior level. Otherwise, there would have been enough young batsman to
edge out our middle order greats like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar
and Vangipurappu, which has not been the case.

(8)Call him a genius and treat him like nay ordinary man. if there is
anyone who can empathise with Sachin Tendulkar's current plight,
it would be Danial day lewis. After all, it is the batsman's left
foot that is the focus of all attention, and if anyone knows all
about that part of the anatomy, it would be the man who gave a
masterly performance in the 1989 film My Left Foot, the year Tendulark
arrived on the international scene. While all experts tear into the
technical aspects of the master's immobile left foot, there
are other theories floating around. one, itis down to improper
coaching by the New zealand camp. Otherwise, why would 20 something
pacers pitch it up again and again to bowl to our generation's
greatest player when they should be pounding him with bouncers, and be
pulled to the boundary.(source-Hindustan Times Wednesday September 06, 2012)
