(1)Parliament on Friday stood up for the right of people from
northeastern states to live anywhere in the country in a move aimed
at reassulring them that the government would ensure their safety and
take action against the miscreants. Rajya Sabha-which
suspended the Question Hour ended the discussion with a resolutoin
committing to the rights of people to live anywhere
in the country. In the Lok Sabha, speaker Meira Kumar invoked her
discretion to allow the discussion on the "sensitive issue".
In its resolution, the Rajya Sabha demanded a thorough investigation
into the spread of rumours of impending attacks against

(2)Google India on Monday approached the city cyber crime cell to file
a complain against Noida-based company for forgery and trademark
violation, police said. According to the complaint, Royal E-Kutir
has duped several investors through its Sector 10-based unit named
'Google Enterprise prive limited', which also bears the Google logo.
In its complaint, Google said the company had lured investors,
saying they were an upcoming Knowledge processing outsourcing
centre(KPO) affiliated to Google and Tata.

(3)A man who had parked his car in a Metro station's parking lot was
awarded 50,000 as compensation by a district consumer forum after
someone had tried to break into it. A Private contractor, who was
managing the parking lot, was asked to pay damages and alos pay for
the
theft. The damage was done to the car when it was in custody of
Opposite party No 2. The court studied the question of propriety and
analysed the contract between the DMRC and the private contractor.
The DMRC, in its reply, agreed that according to the terms of
contract,
the private contractor was liable for any damage to or theft to the
property. The amount can be recovered from its security deposit.

(4)The CBI, which is probing alleged irregulation in the coal block
allocations, is likely to question the directors of Nagpur-based JLD
Yavatmal Energy Limited-one of the nine accused firms-soon. The
agency had filed a case against the firm in September for allegedly
misrepresenting and concealing facts in its application form to
get the Fatehpur captive coal block in Chattisgarh in 2008.
In its FIR, the probe agency had also named six of its then
directors, including congress's Rajya Sabha member Vijay Darda,
his brother and Maharashtra school education minister Rajendra and
his son Devendra, who have strongly rejected the CBI's charges.

from 2 to 5 yers for those found guily of causing mass deaths and
destruction through their rash or negligent acts in man-made
disasters. In its 71-page consulation paper, seeking views of the
public
on the issue , the commission also recalled that in the past it had
recommended enhancement of minimum jail term under this section to

serial, Pakistan's Supreme Court has asked new Prime Minister Raja
Pervez to appear before it yet again on September 18 for failing to

President ashif ali zardari. In its August 8 order, a five-judge
bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, displayed its impatience,
saying that the " restraint exercised" by the court was "not
without any limit". The sentence is revealing- it appears to be a
clear and present threat of Ashraf's position. The game, it appears,
is to ensure that Ashraf's government remains as non-functional as Gilani's.

operator as its witness in the trial of the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case
at Ghaziabad sessions court. On the basis of documents, witness
Deepak said several calles were exchanged between former UP police
officer
KK Gautam and Dr Sushil Chaudhary. In its closure report, the CBI
hasd talked about the loop of calles between Chaudhary and Gautam on

(8)The Delhi High Court on Friday declined to stay the September 11
Delhi government notification imposing a blanket ban on the
manufacture, sale,
storage and display of all gutkha products. In its plea, the gutkha
manufacturer had said that the city government had issued the
notification as \
per the Centre's August 2011 Regulations under the Food Safety and

(9)The inter-ministerial group(IMG) on Saturday recommended the
cancellation of two coal blocks allocated to Bhushan steel and SKS
ispat and power.
With this, the IMG-which has reviewed around 18 coal blocks for
mining progress-has recommended de-allocation of as many as seven coal
blocks.
The panel would meet again on September 17 to carry on with its
review process. In its review, the IMG also recommended deduction of
bank
guarantees in four coal blocks. These blocks include Nerad Malegaon
Block, allotted to Gupta Coalfields and many more.
